AttractionsSituated in the South African Waterberg biosphere, the Reserve consists of approximately 1700 hectares of mixed Waterberg veld (grass, bush, swamp and mountainous terrain), forms part of the Limpopo Highland Reserve has as its northern neighbour the well known Entabeni Game Reserve.The eastern border runs along the top of the eastern Waterberg from where guests have a breathtaking view of the Springbok flats below and all water is the first in the catchment area and untouched by human hands. The reserve hosts many species of game including Giraffe, Eland, Kudu, Impala, Blue- wildebeest, smaller buck as well as the rare and protected 'Eugene Marais Cycad'. 'Brown Hyenas, Jackals, Serval and Aardvark' are also in abundance and guests are advised to keep a lookout for holes when driving! There are two dams with braai / picnic facilities for those who are keen bird spotters or anglers. Guest’s time is their own. No game rangers forcing you to go on a game drive! As in the Kruger National Park, guests do their own drives in their own vehicles when and how it suits them.FacilitiesThe main deck is a communal lapa area where guests can relax, read books, view tortoises in the tortoise camp, enjoy a winter log fire or enjoy the splash- pool which overlooks the feeding area.The grass helicopter pad can accommodate up to three medium sized helicopters. |
