Privately situated, well equipped and tastefully furnished self catering cottages in an acclaimed, tranquil, park like garden. Maylodge is within walking distance of hiking trails which lead into the indigenous forest with numerous cascading waterfalls.
All linen is provided and the cottages are serviced daily. Check in time is from 14H00 and check out time is by 10H00.
- If you do not wish to self cater, various eating venues are available.
- Horseriding excursions can be arranged.
- Aromatherapy treatments by appointment.
- Seasons are highlighted with autumn hues, snow in winter and a burst of spectacular flowers in spring and summer.
- Gardens are open to the public free of charge, during spring and summer, by prior arrangement.
- For the not so active - a complete relaxing getaway.
- Bird watching is also an often pursued activity.
Accommodation“Heron House”This lovely double story thatch house, with a beautiful view from each room is set in a tranquil, park like garden. Spacious, with an open plan living area where you can relax in front of a log fire while sipping on a glass of wine. In the sunroom you find the perfect spot to commune with nature and watch swirling mists turn the garden into a mystical wonder. The kitchen is spacious, well designed and fully equipped for self-catering. The main bedroom is privately situated, tastefully furnished and has a queen size bed with an en-suite bathroom. The 2nd bedroom also has a queen-size bed with its own bathroom. Upstairs is the spacious but cozy double volume 3rd bedroom with a queen size bed, 2 single beds and en-suite bathroom. Snug feather duvets in all bedrooms. The perfect holiday home with a real ‘good feel’ to it!
Sleeps 8 people sharing “Owl Cottage”What a snug and romantic cottage for two! The bedroom has a queen size bed with a feather duvet, bathroom with a shower, lounge with a comfy couch in front of the fireplace, and a kitchenette that is fully equipped for self-catering. There is a little verandah where you can sit and listen to the water flowing and bird songs while enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The perfect place for honeymoons or a romantic getaway!
Sleeps 2 people sharing “Hoopoe Cottage”A very cozy, 2 bedroom cottage with en-suite bathrooms. The bedrooms each have 2 single beds, side by side with feather duvets. There is a lovely lounge/dining room with a fireplace and a sunroom with 2 fold out mattresses for children under 10 years. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. Come and experience the quiet, relaxed atmosphere!
Sleeps 4 + 2 children (under 10 yrs) sharing “Hadeda Cottage”Tucked away amongst the trees in our garden, we have this lovely, private double story cottage. Comprising of 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with a fireplace and a dining room. Upstairs the loft bedroom has 2 single beds, side by side leading onto a balcony. Downstairs the1st bedroom has a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds, side by side with an en-suite bathroom. All beds have feather duvets for your comfort. There is also a 3rd downstairs bathroom with a shower for the loft bedroom. Sitting on the porch you can soak up the beauty of nature. The ideal hideaway to rejuvenate body, mind and soul.

The main bedroom with en-suite bathroom has a queen size bed and a fireplace of its own! The 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds, side by side also with an en-suite bathroom. All beds have feather duvets.
