Description

250 Ha of lush coastal bush and grassland is home to a large variety of African game including Cheetah, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Zebra, Wildebeest, Rhino, Buffalo, Nyala, Warthogs, Impala, Rietbok, Bontebok and many more species. This is an owner-managed animal friendly park; the animals roam free in unrestricted surroundings. No cages or pens. Located on the city s doorstep, no more than 15 minutes drive, on the KRAGGA KAMMA ROAD. Visitors to the park rate the easy sighting of large herds of game as our best feature.

Opening times

Gates open daily at 8:00 am and close for entry at 5:00 pm. In summer the gates are locked at 7:30 pm and at 6:00 pm in winter.

More local residents visit out Park than any other Parks – they know a good thing!

Accommodation

Accommodation is available for families and smaller groups.

  • Thatched Lodges:  These two double-bed roomed Lodges are ideal for families – with a lounge, kitchen and undercover barbeque; fully equipped for self-catering with plenty of elbow room : sleeper couches for children.
  • Chalet:  Large downstairs on-suite bed/sitter with additional upstairs sleeping area, fully equipped for self-catering with barbeque.
  • Log Cabins:  One en suite bedroom with private barbeque area : ideal for couples with sleeper couch for children. Fully equipped for self-catering.
  • Luxury Safari Tent for the real bush camp experience. Tents are fully furnished with two single beds (mattresses on request for kids) equipped for self-catering, with en suite bathroom and private barbeque area.

- We had an excelent time and friendly service at the Game Park. One of the best in the Eastern Cape. I am convinced the previous guest must be from some opposition Park in the area or some sour old soul. His complaint is not in line with the excelllent service we have experiences from Garnett Cantor and his staff. Will always return. Thanks keep up the friendly service.

- The park is very nice, but beware should you wish to vacate after closing time at night! We enquired about doing this & were told it could be 'discussed on arrival'. Upon arrival we were told it would cost us R100! If we had known this beforehand (as requested), we would not have made an after hours booking. When I lodged a complaint by email for the lack of information, we received a rude reply from the park owner, Garnett Cantor informing us that he didn't care if he ever saw us again. Good news for him is we won't! 5/5 to him for the worst customer service.

Attractions

Game Drives

At Kragga Kamma Game Park, you may choose between two types of game drives:

  • Self drive
    In any weather conditions, you will always enjoy viewing the game from the comfort of your own car. The animals are used to motor vehicles, so you get close enough for great photos. On the well maintained roads it is a comfortable two hour drive (allow 3 hours for visit).
  • Guided game drive
    Choose the 2 hour game drive in one of our open vehicles with a professional guide for really close encounters and detailed information about the animals and the historical background to the area.

Birding

The resident bird of prey is the Jackal Buzzard and other species such as Fish Eagles, Yellow Billed kites, and Sparrow Hawks also occur. Knysna Loeries are plentiful and more than 200 species of wild birds and waterfowl have been documented.

Good birding opportunities on the Treetop Boardwalk and the many waterholes.

Picnic spots with barbeque facilities are available under shady trees. The Bush Cafe offers mouthwatering home baked cakes and tarts, as well as variety of meals to suiite all tastes. Enjoy your refreshments to the sound of wild birds and the sightings of game. We also cater for all types of functions, so you can treat your clients, staff or family to a really special outing.

The Forest Walk

Take a walk on our 400 meter treetop boardwalk into the forest to view monkeys and other species of forest dwellers. The birdlife is fantastic with more than 200 species identified. Knysna Loeries are plentiful.
